I can hardly believe it. I just saw an article about buying a list of technical recruiters. My first response was, ‘That’s great. This would be very valuable for my clients. I’ll definitely mention it.’
On hindsight, however, I realized that I already have a comprehensive list and it’s on LinkedIn. I have a premium account and I’m able to search on technical recruiters and narrow them down by speciality and company.
I can buy tools that allow me to automatically load my search results into Excel so that I can do some more organization and manipulation. Without the tools, I can still do a copy and paste into Excel.
I love data. I can create profiles of the recruiters based on their career history and interests. I can get to know them even before I introduce myself.
LinkedIn is a powerful tool and most IT professionals don’t take advantage of it.
